Affinity Glassworks Workshop Policies

We are here to provide you a wide variety of fun project based and educations technical workshops from local and nationally known teaching artists.  In addition to the fundamentals of kiln formed glass, we are always looking for new and innovative techniques to make your glass “sing”.

During the workshop

  • Students will be asked to sign a liability release before the workshop.
  • You may bring your own safety glasses or use one of our classroom loaners at the studio.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing (preferably non-synthetic), long pants (to the ankle), and closed-toe and closed-heel shoes.
  • Bring a notebook and pen/pencil for taking notes or sketching during class.
  • Not often and very rarely some projects may fail.  If we have the time and resources, we may offer additional opportunities at no cost to you to redo your piece.
  • And most important – HAVE FUN!

Workshop Registration

  • Deposits, or with some workshops full payment, is usually required to reserve your spot.
  • Please check and make sure you receive a confirmation back from us if you send an email to reserve a spot.  Otherwise we may not have seen your request.
  • Spaces are secured on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • We provide you all the tools, materials and supplies for the workshop in the registration fee.  You may bring your own tools if you like.  If you want to substitute different materials (such as upgrading to a higher priced glass) than those provided in the workshop, please chat with the instructor to see if it is possible to do so.  You may have to pay additional fees for product substitutions.

If Affinity Glassworks Cancels or Reschedules a Workshop

  • You may apply your registration fee to other workshops or purchases at Affinity Glassworks or you may request and receive a full refund if we cancel or reschedule a workshop.
  • We will try to notify students of course cancellations at least 48 hours before the beginning of a workshop.  Affinity Glassworks not responsible for any travel related costs you may incur as the result of a cancelled class.

If You Withdraw from a Workshop

We want to make sure you have a fantastic experience in our workshops.  To make sure of that often requires us to spend a lot of time planning and preparing before you get here purchasing special supplies, cutting and pre-firing glasses, arranging and paying for guest instructor travel expenses, and many other pre workshop activities.

  • If you withdraw from a workshop taught by a Guest Instructor 30 days or more before the workshop, you may apply your registration fee to other workshops or purchases at Affinity Glassworks or you may request and receive a full refund less a $25 processing fee.
  • If you withdraw from a workshop taught by a Guest Instructor less than 30 days before the workshop, you may receive a full refund less a $25 processing fee if another student registers (and attends) to fill your spot.  Otherwise you may receive a refund less the workshop deposit.
  • If you withdraw from a workshop taught by the Affinity Glassworks staff 14 days or more before the workshop, you may apply your registration fee to other workshops or purchases at Affinity Glassworks or you may request and receive a full refund less a $25 processing fee.
  • If you withdraw from a workshop taught by the Affinity Glassworks staff less than 14 days before the workshop, you may receive a full refund less a $25 processing fee if another student registers (and attends) to fill your spot.
